Privacy policy
Updated on October 30, 2026.
This page says what World Achievements keeps about you, why, with whom, for how long, and how to erase it all. The data controller is Maxime Perrin (see the legal notice). A question: contact@worldachievements.com.
What the service keeps, and why
- Your account: your username, your email address (and whether it is confirmed), a fingerprint of your password, your picture if you choose one, the app’s language, and the Steam or Google accounts you link to it (their id and name). Your password is never sent as it is: the app transforms it first, and the service only keeps a fingerprint of it.
- Your signed-in devices: for each one, the name the app gives it, the approximate city and country (guessed by our host from the connection) and the sign-in dates, so that you can see them and sign them out.
- Your profile, to find it on all your devices: your library, your settings, your notes, your rewards (title, frame, badges) and the access your platforms give the app (kept encrypted). The passwords of your platform accounts never go through World Achievements: you sign in on their own pages.
- What you publish: your texts and the pictures you add to them, your votes and your reports; your friends, your requests, the players you block, your messages and your group chats.
- Information about games, the same for every player: for each game of your library, its name and its list of achievements (never what you earned), and the day you last played it, to improve the most played games first. A program of your PC the app does not recognise is noted by its product, folder and file names, never by its window’s title.
- Crash reports (you choose: Settings › App › Crash reports, on by default): when something goes wrong in the app, it sends the app’s version, Windows or Android, the screen open, the error message and where in the code it breaks, so that it gets fixed. Never your messages, your notes, your address or the names of your folders. The service groups them by error; if you delete your account, your name is taken off them. Turned off, nothing is noted or sent any more.
- What your PC learns about your games (you choose: Settings › Features › Game sheets, on by default): when a platform says you just earned an achievement in a PC game or an emulator game, the app notes what changed at the same moment in that game’s save files, or in its memory card or memory while playing for an emulator (the name of each value, before and after: for example “boss defeated: yes”), the layout of those files (the names of their values, without the values), the order in which you earned your games’ achievements with your playtime (never the dates), and what the code of the game installed on your PC says about its achievements (the conditions it checks, never the code itself). Never your saves (unless you turn on “My saves”, below), never anything outside the game’s files. Compared with what other players send, this lets World Achievements track your achievements by itself. Turned off, nothing is looked at or sent any more, and what had been noted on your PC is erased.
- My saves (off at first: you turn it on yourself, on that page of the app): a copy of the save files of your PC and emulator games, kept for you alone at our host, with the game’s name, the date, your PC’s name and where each file sits in the game folders (without your Windows user name). Nobody else can reach them and we do not read them. They are erased when you delete them, when you delete your account, or 60 days after your subscription to this space ends, once you have been warned by email.
- Your purchases (VIP, shop packs, saves space), if you make any: the offer, the price, the dates, and the ids Stripe gives your payment and your subscription. Never your card: it only goes through Stripe.
- Discord, if you link it: your Discord id and the summary of your progress you show there.
- Security: the codes sent by email (a fingerprint, valid for 30 minutes) and attempt counters per email address and per network address, reset after an hour and erased within two days, against those who try to guess a password.
All of this only serves to make World Achievements work, the service you ask for by creating your account (the legal basis: the contract between you and the service), to protect it and to improve it for every player (our legitimate interest, which you can object to: the setting above, or contact@worldachievements.com). No advertising in the app, no resale, no tracker.
What stays on your device
On PC, the app keeps its data in your folder (%APPDATA%\WorldAchievements): the paths of the games on your PC, the copies of your saves it keeps for you, the log of what it does. None of it is sent, except the copies you choose to send with My saves.
With whom
- Cloudflare hosts the service and its database (in Western Europe).
- Resend sends the codes by email: it receives your address and the code.
- Stripe takes the VIP payments: it receives your email address and what you type on its payment page, and keeps the invoices (see its own privacy policy on stripe.com).
- Google, if you sign in with Google: it gives us your Google id, your email address and your first name, which only serve to sign you in (and your first name to suggest your username). Nothing is sent back to Google, nothing is used for advertising.
- Steam: the service reads your public Steam data for the app, with its own key; the answers common to everyone (a game’s achievements, their rarity) stay cached for a day.
- The other platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, GOG, Epic Games, EA, Battle.net, RetroAchievements): the app reads them with the access you give it.
Cloudflare, Resend and Stripe are American companies (Stripe acts in Europe through its Irish subsidiary): the data transfers outside the European Union they may make are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
For how long
As long as your account exists. “Delete my account” (Settings › Accounts) erases at once your account, your devices, your profile, what you published, your votes, your friends, your messages (on both sides) and what you sent about your games. Only the games’ achievement lists remain, which say nothing about you, and your VIP purchases without any link to you, kept ten years for the accounts as the law requires (your subscription is stopped). The link with Discord is erased separately: Settings › Social networks › “Disconnect” erases everything Discord showed. See also how to delete your account.
Age
You must be at least 15 years old to create an account, or have a parent’s consent.
Cookies
This site uses no cookie and no tracker. The app keeps its settings on your device.
Your rights
You can see and correct your username and your picture in the app, and erase everything with “Delete my account”. To get a copy of your data, have it corrected or erased, object to a use or restrict it: contact@worldachievements.com, answered within a month. You can also contact the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too; an important change will be announced in the app.
